After initial rumors were shot down, British rock band Happy Mondays have announced that they will indeed be reuniting their original lineup, according to a statement obtained by The Quietus. Their reunion will mark the first time brothers Shaun and Paul Ryder have played together since 2000.

"The rumours are true," the statement said. "Happy Mondays, the seminal Manchester band who changed musical culture forever has reformed and will be available for select live gigs across 2012."

The reunited lineup will be composed of original Mondays Shaun Ryder, Paul Ryder, Mark Day, Paul Davis and Gary Whelan, along with Rowetta Satchell, who joined the band in the '90s.
